The Lord Of The Rings

The Lord of the Rings (soundtrack)Image via WikipediaJust when we thought the book was the best thing that ever happened to us, the movies came along. Granted they weren’t as fulfilling as the book, but the movies are memorable, awe-inspiring and emotionally striking nevertheless. From the unique language, to the even more unique characters and how they come together to go on a journey inspired by love for all that is good and pure in the world, all in a ‘world’ called Middle-Earth, turns out to be a treacherous adventure filled with magic, power, politics, greed, romance and hope, during which loved ones die and some of them almost pass away. In the end, their fight is rewarded. Against all hopes and logic, good survives the ordeal. J. R. R.

Tolkien, the author, worked thirteen years on his Lord of the Rings, in addition to having written so many more books on Middle-Earth long before this masterpiece came along. He unfortunately died before seeing what a great success his book has become. But, there is a saying: They had to see how great it was going to become for them to have even created something like it. So, John, wherever you are, the world is sure you know how great your work is, because we’ve only just begun to appreciate the masterful genius that is The Lord of the Rings.
